Right. So you’ve completed most of Final Fantasy X and you now want to do all those extra bits. I’m talking about defeating those pesky Dark Aeons and maybe even Penance. Well, news flash; those guys are tough. You’re gunna need some serious manpower to beat these guys, which is where my sphere grid guide comes in. In this FFX guide, I’m going to take you through the basic steps to completing your sphere grid as easily as possible and getting some seriously tanky characters.
Yuna gains new Aeons when she prays to a Fayth in the temples scattered across Spira. You obtain most of them through the main story, but there are also 3 hidden Aeons for you to find.
In this guide, I am going to explain where you can find these hidden Aeons and what you need to do to obtain them.
For the trophy hunters amongst you, there are four trophies relating to these Aeons. Obtaining Yojimbo gives you the ‘It’s All About The Money’ trophy, obtaining Anima gives you the ‘Feel The Pain’ trophy and obtaining Magus Sisters will get you the ‘Delta Attack!’ trophy. Once you have collected all of the Aeons in the game, you will get the ‘Summon Master’ trophy.
Once you reach the Calm Lands, the Monster Arena becomes available. The arena itself is located to the east of the Calm Lands and is reachable on foot. Once there, speak to the old fellow who will give you an explanation of sorts. You are given the task of recapturing each monster in at first the Calm Lands and then the rest of Spira.
To fully complete this, you have to catch 10 of each monster in 13 areas (but that is of course optional). This seems like a daunting task, but can be done relatively smoothly and easily.
Next up for the collectibles is a location guide for the very well hidden Al Bhed Primers.
Learning the Al Bhed language is done by finding primers hidden throughout Spira. There are 26 to collect in total; one for each letter in the alphabet.
If you are playing the HD Remaster and are after both the Speaking in Tongues and Master Translator trophies, you will want to collect every primer. This is relatively easy to do if you follow a location-by-location guide and take a little care when progressing in the story. It is worth mentioning that there are 4 missable prim
First up for my FFX guides is a guide solely on Kimahri’s overdrives.
The Ronso can learn enemy abilities by using the Lancet ability on particular monsters. There are 12 for Kimahri to learn in total. Those of you playing the HD Remaster can earn the ‘Learning!’ trophy by collecting them all.
Final Fantasy X is up there on my favourite Final Fantasy list. I played it for far too many hours all those many moons ago when it was first released on Playstation 2 and have been looking forward to doing so again. Well, it’s been a couple of weeks now and I have of course been playing it! You’ll know I’m bit of a trophy hunter so I’m going into this game with the platinum in my line of sight.
This is just a quick overview of the trophies for the game, with a maybe a few hints and tips for a few in particular.
